𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 🔍🔥
The most underrated skill in engineering:𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.
Not coding.
Not frameworks.
Because production is where:
• Distributed failures show up
• Race conditions become real
• Assumptions break silently
𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂:
• How systems actually behave (not how you designed them)
• Where bottlenecks and failure points exist
• Which assumptions were wrong
Average engineers write code that works.
𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁.
Practical shift:
• Don’t just log errors → trace execution paths
• Don’t just retry → find root cause
• Don’t just patch → fix system design gaps
If you want to grow faster:
𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀.
Because:
Every failure you deeply understand
makes you a better system designer.
